Claire Barrow started painting jackets on her year out from university around a year and half ago, since then she has dressed likes of Rhianna and Agnes Deyn and she’s yet to graduate. Her graduate show is later this month and after her previous success I’d keep your eyes peeled!

Bitches, meet NYané (Pronounced Nee-ya-nee) a 19 year old Fine art and textiles student living in South Hampton with super style.

We met her when we uploaded her picture to our FB page and have been tweeting and Tumbling ever since. Together with her twin sister Mpho, South African NYane started their Tumblr in the summer of 2011 and the pair are now style superstars in their own right.

We recently worked with Nyane on a BITCHING shoot and fell in love. With her fresh 90’s look, nuclear orange hair and her mischievous charm she’s a bitchy girl for sure. We delved a little deeper to find out what makes this Tumblr girl tick…..

What is the oddest thing you’ve ever been asked on your Tumblr?
The oddest thing ive ever been asked is ‘would you rather be a unicorn or napoleon dynamite’

Do you get recognised on the street much?
Yes, a lot of people who go to my college already know about my blog and some people in southampton.
Id say i get recognised more when im in London though.

Adidas Press Day

Last week I faced the awful London wet weather to check out the Adidas press day and of course my favourite pieces were all from the design collaboration between Adidas and fashion’s wild-child, Jeremy Scott. The AW12 range is full of bright Hawaiian floral and animal prints, loud puffer jackets, an amazing clear PVC bomber, pop culture and unexpected takes on classic sportswear.

The Y3, Stella and Adidas Originals AW12 Womenswear included stylish wedge sneakers with fur detail, oversized jackets with leather inserts and poncho style rain jackets.

I am not a sporty person but will defs be rocking a few of these styles this winter!

Everyone always wants to do something different and summer is in the air already so why not start rocking blue on your lips. The best part is it goes well with most colors including black, pastels, brights etc. You can keep eyes simple or if you’re going out at night why not try a gorgeous graphic liner on your eyes in purple or color of your choice and your blue lips.

Great products for a blue lip are Shu Uemura’s lipstick in blue or Illamasqua intense lipgloss in Gender. Or both combined. If you want to creat your own blue then you can always use Mac mixing medium with a pigment and achieve the color of your taste!!

I know it sounds a bit boring at first but once you have a look at the gallery you will change your mind! The Hubble Galleries are full of beautiful and inspiring photos of the universe. Margaux Lange, a New york artist who had the good idea to make Jewellery out of Barbie dolls! The collection utilizes a combination of sterling silver, resins and salvaged Barbie doll parts to create wearable art. The series is a result of Lange’s want to re-use mass produced materials and to examine pop culture’s iconic doll: Barbie!

Lots of images of grunge girls sporting bindis, seems this micro trend is making a come back for the summer.
Traditionally worn between the eyebrows to retain energy, help concentration and is also said to protect against bad luck. But during the 90s the likes of Gwen Stefani helped bring bindis to fashion in the western world and now they’re back so we can all get lucky.

Tom Nijhuis Gabber Inspired Collection.

Came across this Gabber inspired collection by dutch desginer Tom Nijhuis in Dis Magazine and thought it was pretty amaze. Gabber, a variant harcore techno, emerged as a scene in Rotterdam during the early nineties. One of it’s defining characteristics was it’s 180+ BPM, beats sometimes indistinguishable from each other. As with all musical genres Gabber has it’s own style usually involving some sort of shaved head and sportswear.

The scene still exists to some extent in Holland and the models used in the shoot are real Gabber girls – how cool is that. Just kind of fascinated by the whole scene and shoot and it reminds me of the French Vogue shoot below which also nods to sportswear of the same era. Tom Nijuis’ website is pretty RAD as is the Facebook link to his Gabber girlfriends. I think I want to be them.

Australia’s Discount are set to take over the world, with its cult following, huge online and social media presence and have already been worn by Britney Spears, Kreayshawn and MIA.
