WOW, I’ve finished my four year degree course…it’s been a long road but I’m finally done! And to celebrate I’ve made a compilation on floral images to get me, and any other late comers, in the summer spirit! Bring on a summer full of sun, festivals and beaches and best of all, no uni work!!

We’re having a mini freak out today cause we just found out Dizzie Rascal was shooting beside our studio in our studio building Netil House all day yesterday. We love Dizzie, we always thought we’d love to do an “In the Closet with….” feature on him, his styles, his inspirations and just hang out cause he seems pretty cool and we’d say he’s a good laugh. We were down our local in the London Fields one night and this guy came up to BITCHY Kath and told her that she looked like Dizzie Rascal – she’s a white Australian chick(you can see the likeness) – so we became bigger fans then. I’ve been a fan since Boy in Da Corner.
We caught a glimpse of the shoot yesterday and saw Pepper spray painted on a wall which we thought was some new performer cause we never saw Dizz ourselves. We’ve got a Staffie fashion dogger called Pepper so we got all excited. Anyway today we’re kicking ourselves that we didn’t go in and say hi and try to stick studs on him – we didn’t even know he was there until we saw the pics below. Shitebags!

Yo Dizz, dizzaaaaayy – havin the craic.
We had Wiley in the other week too but that’s a whole other post – spoiled for hip-hop n grime at the moment. We love our studio.
Other news, kinda stoked cause we got stuff on the front cover of Company and we’re in LOVE magazine and InStyle. Dead Nice – will post in a day or so.
The collection is based on voodoo from it’s roots in African slavery to contemporary Caribbean culture. We look to tribal and voodoo inspirations for our own label TWO WEEKS but the manifestation is completely different to Samantha’s interpretation. Despite the fact that I rarely wear prints I love the energy of the mixed print aesthetic and I’m a big fan of riotous African prints – probably comes from my first few years in London spent in Brixton and my current residence(sounds very grand, it isn’t) in Dalston. With printed bombers, jumpsuits and harem pants, her shapes are clearly street inspired. Afro Caribbean culture has been bubbling under for a while from the whole bashment. ghetto scene to the more commerical Major Lazer(who Samantha used as the soundtrack to her film).
Being a great designer is about so much more than just having a good collection, it’s having the business acumen to surround yourself with the right people and position your brand at the right level through styling, art direction, lookbook and, like Sam, film. As far as I’m concerned this girl’s got it nailed. We’ll have our eye on her next move.
Through her film, soundtrack, collection and styling she’s managed to bag-up the energy of the culture that inspired her but also the market who’ll wear it.

Everyone knows we like a good party. We have a work hard play hard ethic and we do both very well. We moved into our studio building just over a year ago and it’s kind of like being in big a youth club for grown-ups. We’re surrounded by other people doing cool shit which is really inspirational. Netil House is rammed full of stylists, photographers, multi-media companies, confectioners, artists and other designers. We pretty much live here so it’s good that we like it. Last Thursday saw our first major open studio event organised by our mates stylist and designer Jacqueline White and knitwear mogul Lindsay McKean, the Scott(she’s scottish). Shout out to them for doing such an amaze party, big up to other girls makin shit happen. We started with a few formal drinks in our studio and things quickly escalated – hipster sobriety left at the door just how we like it.

Soooo……………. the good news is we’re throwing a party in Urban Outfitter in Shoreditch on the 9th of June…….they’re letting us run tings in their store for an evening(brave) and we’ll have treats, free compliments, happy times and BITCHY LUV in store for everyone. Introducing new fashion Dogger Pepsi Poogarty – she’s a good fer nuffin layabout.
We have in our styling box a t-shirt called Side-tit. We often give inanimate objects names, it personifies them, makes them part of the team, gives them more of a roll in the business and makes them complain less when we do things like cover them in paint, cream and treacle, all of which we’ve done to side-tit. We found side-tit on the floor of a warehouse in LA – all cotton candy coloured and pristine so we hacked the sides and the neck off it and managed to turn it a faint chewing-gum white colour. We barely have a shoot where it’s not used. Side-tit’s become our mascott.
We love old mate side-tit but in the battle of the curves under-butt’s gaining ground. If we had to choose we’d probably always stand by side-tit(we got history) however we can’t deny the importance of underbutt(our business foundation has been built on ass). We’d like to think that side-tit can co-exist with underbutt in happiness and unity – where do you stand in the debate?
