We all make mistakes, I did yesterday(sorry I get dark sometimes but that’s when I make/paint good stuff) I blogged in a bad mood and I shouldn’t have – didn’t realise quite so many people were acutally reading my ramblings so if I offended anyone I apologise and will buy you a box of roses if you ask me to. Bad person, bad person, hand slap, currently stood facing the corner, no supper for me so today I’ll be positive. Actually today has been really positive. We made lots of great stuff for the menswear range we’re shooting in the next couple of weeks and have rounded up some stunning models to dray into our studios. We’ve been having fun with draping and jersey and are off tomorrow trimmings shopping, one of my favorite things.
I love window shopping, yes for the clothes but also for the display and Browns nails it for me every time. It amazes me how they manage to seamlessly combine pop culture, oversize props and high-brow fashion. There’s something slightly Tim Walker about it only less whimsical and romantic. It’s always a pleasure to walk down South Molton St and check out their mini art installations. Their current window features the Smiley Faces – go down and check it out it, guaranteed to make your face smiley too.

……was controversial. It was always going to be. We seem to have a South Side/North Side Hackney Wick divide. It’s kind of like West side story the art version. For some reason my house-mates cast me as the Spanish temptress, actually no, maybe that was Greece. Nevermind. When it came to the location of my store it was looking like I was becoming a outcast in my own community, shunned for defecting to the other side. Could have ended with me returning South, head hanging like the prodigal son, begging forgiveness.

My name is Marion. My mother recently told me it wasn’t cool enough to start a brand with. I argued with her, then my entire family agreed and I was like “you gave it to me?!”. Another friend has recently suggested I change it to Marlin or Dave or David Marlin but I’m not, I’m sticking with Marion, with an O too.

Candy-floss, Fried Eggs, Bananas, Ginger Bread men – when I was little I used to imagine how cool the world would be if it was completely edible. As a lot of you know I have really bad junkfood addiction so I’ve been drawn to Emma Bell with a rumbling stomach drooling at her delicious use of candy tooth-rot colours and motifs. Emma has created a glitter infused. licorice allsort, pick n mix world of fashion. Her AW09 collection drew on fairytale references with wolves and little decapitated piggies, simultaneously sweet and sinister.

We had so many requests to do our sell-out macs and with all that’s been going on we’ve only managed to get some uploaded today. We’re finding out feet in terms of what our customers are looking for but there’s been a really strong reaction to these guys and they’re perfect for this schizo weather we’re having. They’re insipring us to do a lot more and going forward we’re going to be customising EVERYTHING.
Our first pop-up store BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS went off with a bang at the weekend and Hackney Wick turned into it’s own mini festival. We hit a great party but the old bill came and closed down all of the sound systems so we ended up back in our studios under the cover of our pure silk theatre drapes which have managed to give our space a slightly Twin Peaks kind of feel.
I’ll be bloggin that this week along with another “In the closet” feature with someone very different to Queen Michelle. A big thanks to Queen for being my first “In the closeter” – I was honoured.
Today I also went to Margin so will be writing up some of what I saw there and also hope to collaborate with some of the brands on other Pop-ups.
Check out the Macs – what you think? I’m going to do these for boys too.

Sunday: It’s blog dress up day! Most of personal style photos for the blog are all taken at the weekend so today is photo day. That basically involves pulling out loads of clothes and ending up a sweaty, harassed mess. Spend much of the day in and out of different outfits but here I am wearing a Horace t-shirt/dress, Miu Miu socks and All Saints sandals. Pranced around the house in my mask for a bit.

Better late than never. My pop-up store has been one hell of a ride this weekend and pulled it off with the help of at least ten other BITCHY people Soz if this post is a little late but I’ve been merchandising, making signage from multi-coloured duct-tape and trying to mince around in those Topshop blue sueded boots all day, difficult but necessary. Now I’ve just had a chance to grab a can of red-stripe and breathe, feels good.
This is my favorite Queen post so far.
Saturday: Had no intention of leaving the house today. Have some magazines to read, tea to drink and dogs to pat. Wore my vintage bed jacket I picked up when I was shopping on Thursday with a customised petticoat, Givenchy wedges, Bebaroque stockings and BF’s Lonny Liston Smith t-shirt from 1984.

So much to write about Wick and weekend but it’s gonna be tough over the next few days. My mum’s coming over on Monday and she’s brining me to a salon get my Ghetto nails back on – can’t wait. She’s also brining me somewhere really posh like Claridges for afternoon tea. What a contrast to my current existence. Wll blog that too and might even dress her up BITCHY style too – she’s a funny and brilliant woman.

Due to torrential rain and my powers of persuasion(very finely tuned) I’ve managed to get a real SHOP for our pop-up store.
It’s great because it’s right beside my favorite Cafe in Hackney Wick where there’ll be art installions, film screenings and a barbeque. Our new neighbors have just opened a phenomenal live/work gallery space. The private view was rammed last night. So if you want to get cultured-up, shop, or just hang out with us come join the fun plus the street part is just around the corner so we can dress you up in our love and then get you trashed.
DJ set by ONLY JOE. Compliments by me.

O-Fish-Al Street Party
Peanut Factory studios also open where you can get a haircut, Tattoo and visit the studios of London’s finest artist and graffiti writers.
