What I Whore ……

I’ve been pestering everyone else to take their pictures, write about their style and post them on my website and it seems that I’m not getting away with the anonymity I had hoped – my cunning plan has been foiled. I’ve been asked numerous times of late to start blogging what I’m wearing so sharp inhalation of breath Skype style here goes……….

I also turn 31 on Friday so I guess this is a good way to mark the finale of my 30th year. Things to do before you’re 31 etc – nope never stole a Police mans hat as I have a vintage admiral’s cap that’s much more chic

On Saturday I did my first vintage fair – I don’t really want to take on a full time premises just yet. Times are tough and most stores are trading Thursday to Sunday so I’m damned if I’m going to be sitting around twiddling my thumbs from Monday to then. I’d rather be in my studio making things and figuring out where this monster I’ve created is going over the coming months.

I completely sold out of my first run of Unisex T-shirts so was heading out with ManAboutWorld to an afterparty in London Bridge to celebrate. I’m too excited about AW so in true “screw the seasons” style I’ve pulled forward the look drawing inspiration on 80’s puffball volume and Royal Blue, a key colour for the season. Louis Vuitton AW2009 was the catwalk I had in my head. This dress has an elasticated hem so you can wear it Tutu length like me or as a long puffball shape as modelled by Tash – you can buy this dress HERE. This 80’s tramp look is unusally girly for me and I’ve never referenced Vuitton as any kind of inspiration before – I’ve been far more comfortable with androgyny over the last few months so I’ve no idea why I’ve decided to use this as my first post but I was clearly having a schizo style moment so I guess it’s quite fitting as that’s a huge part of my aesthetic.

Laziness and downright refusal to handwash things was a key inspiration for the leggings. These are last Season’s “must have” American Apparel wet-look leggings which I threw in the washing machine and semi-melted. I figured if they’re going to look semi-melted and mashed up then I may aswell rip lots of holes in them with a stanley knife and really destroy them. I’m quite happy with the result.

These biker gloves are being worn with EVERYTHING I own at the moment. They are black leather and I customised them with studs. They made my feel more comfortable with looking like a girl this weekend. These will be added to the store in the very near future.

The boots are Office’s Take on Margiela’s SS09 covered heels. These are my “uniform” boots, the ones that never fail and go with everything.

I have plans for Bitching and Junkfood pop-up store in the next two weeks at an undiclosed location just like an illegal Rave…thinking scaffolding, astro-turf and duct tape. Will let you know how I get on with that one.
